The PDP 2025 will be hosted by the University of Turin at the rettorato buildings, via Po 17, 10123 Torino
The University of Turin is one of the most ancient and prestigious Italian Universities. Hosting almost 80.000 students and with 120 buildings in different areas in Turin and in key places in Piedmont, the University of Turin can be considered as “city-within-a-city”, promoting culture and producing research, innovation, training and employment.
The University of Turin is today one of the largest Italian Universities, open to international research and training. It is an integral part of the community, acting for reviving urban and suburban areas, promoting cultural interaction, social integration and development, encouraging dialogue and insight into current realities.
How to reach the venue
By air through Sandro Pertini – Caselle International Airport
Turin’s “Sandro Pertini” Airport is 16 kilometers northwest of the town center and provides direct connections with all major European cities and hubs. From the airport, the city center can be reached by bus, taxi or train.

By air through Malpensa Intercontinental Airport
Located at about 140 km from Turin, Malpensa offers daily European and intercontinental flights. It has two terminals serviced by:
- a shuttle connecting the Malpensa Airport with Turin, and stopping at the Porta Susa railway station
- a train connecting Malpensa Airport Terminal 2 and Turin railway stations Porta Susa and Porta Nuova. In this case it is necessary to change the train in Milan.
The trip takes about two hours. Tickets may be reserved in advance or bought at the airport terminal (next trip availability can generally be assumed but is not guaranteed).

By rail
Turin has two main railway stations, Porta Susa and Porta Nuova, with most trains stopping at both. The city is well-connected to both the Italian railway system and those of neighboring countries. High-speed trains connect Turin with all the major Italian cities (Turin-Milan takes approximately 1 hour, while Turin-Rome takes approximately 5 hours).
- Trenitalia Italian railways, local and high-speed trains
- Italo Italian railways, mostly high-speed trains
- SNCF French railways, direct connections between Turin and Grenoble, Lyon and Paris
- SBB Swiss railways, connections with Switzerland
Local transportation
Turin is served by an effective public transportation system, called GTT, comprising buses, shuttles, trams and a fully automated subway line. Interconnections are guaranteed with all the railway stations and with Turin’s Airport. The tickets can be bought at Tabacco shops, ticket selling machines, directly at the bus (in some busses the ticket can be bought by just swiping the card) or through the GTT apps. More information about the tickets and the prices can be found here.
There are some car sharing services available, but using the car in Turin is not recommended, it can be stressful and parking can be difficult.
Taxis are a good bet if you’ve got luggage or need to get around late at night. There are different applications providing taxi service, it is possible to call the taxi company directly or head to a taxi stand.
- Wetaxi application that allows to book, share the use with other users and pay directly from the app by ATM or credit card
- FreeNow application that allows to pay for your taxi ride by Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, card or cash
- Taxi Torino
Accessible travel in Turin
Many newer buses are wheelchair accessible with a designated space inside, and stops are often announced prior to arrival. The list of bus lines with wheelchair access, identified with a symbol, can be found here. Turin’s metro stations have wheelchair-accessible lifts and tactile paths for people with visual impairments. Taxi Torino has wheelchair-accessible vehicles, though these must be booked in advance.
Visa
We can provide a visa support letter to participants needing a visa to attend the conference. Please note that it is necessary to register before asking for a visa support letter.
